Morgaine's

On our last day at the sanctuary we visited Morgaine's, these are the most adoptable cats at Best Friends, so they need extra socialization. I'm sitting with the beautiful Astoria, her brother Waldorf is running around somewhere too. The cutie tortie is Midnight Blue she was very playful and would stop to be petted and then run back up the tree. We also helped clean the catery, we wiped all the surfaces, cleaned fur off the beds, mopped the floors, and changed litters, then it was all play time. It was a nice relaxing way to say good bye to Best Friends :(

Bye Harles

This is a video of us dropping of Harles in his run at the Fairway in Dog Town. We were really sad. Then when he got outside he saw his friend in the run next to him and they ran down the fence together. It was the first time we heard Harles bark. It was good to see him happy to go back. We also found out that he's being adopted, I hope the lady who is adopting him knows she's very lucky!

Harles In Charge

Harley hadn't been on a sleepover for a few weeks so we decided to take him back to the Shilo Inn with us. He is such a good boy and is so calm, when we got back to the hotel we all took a nap. Then we went for a long walk around town. There was a huge statue of a Buffalo and Harley was really scared of it and stopped walking and hid behind Michael, you may have had to be there but it was really cute. Harley lives up to his cattle dog instincts by trying to nip cars passing by you when you are driving, we like to call him Harles In Charge because he's always so alert and always doing a job. In the mourning I had to wake him up to take him outside and he kept yawning and stretching the whole walk, it was nice to see I'm not the only one who hates mornings.

Scotter!

One of the reasons I wanted to go to the kitty motel was to see the famous Scotter. He is the black cat that looks like he's sitting, but really he has no back legs and just scoots around the lobby. Don't feel bad for him though, he is a happy go lucky guy and is the best greeter at Cat World. A lot of the Kitty Motel cats are chronic lap cats like Oreo the one with only one eye. I also like how most of the cats get lion cuts in the summer they look so regal. The siamese looking one is Casper he may be kinda blind, but he loved being around people and being petted.

Cat World

There's many catery's in cat world our first visit is at the Kitty Motel. The motel is home to geriatric cats and FIV positive cats. FIV is a lot like HIV, these cats would not be cared for in traditional shelters, but there's absolutely no reason they shouldn't live. All the cats here are so happy and the environment is so clam, it is so quiet compared to Dog Town. And their indoor/outdoor areas are so perfect for the cats. There is so many cubbies and places for them to hide and climb. The black cat Nicholas was my velcro cat for the day, he made me miss my blacky Punjab. He was clearly someone's cat and was very social and just wanted to sit on my lap and be petted, his people were going to abandon him in the 100 degree desert. Stupid Mean People my bad thoughts go out to you!

Dirty Work

It can't be all cuddles n' wags, we have to help do the dirty work too. I'm pretty used to it (Carol ha ha) Plus in the sunshine at a beautiful place like this scooping poop isn't so bad.

Harley and Jarra

After puppies we head back over to dog town to volunteer with more dogs. The caregiver asks us to walk two roomates named Jarra(white) and Harley(black). She says Harley is all business and he sure is. I love the pic of him peeing classic Harley. Harley looks just like a grown up of the puppies we were just working with .Cattle dogs are sneaking their way into being one of my fav dogs. Later that day we saw a real cowboy on horse with two cattle dogs that looked just like Harley, I didn't have enough time to take a picture but I'm sure he would love having that job! Jarra is such a sweet heart and still had a lot of puppy energy, I'm sure she drives that serious Harley crazy.
